Amendment to the Ministry of Culture Act
This Amendment is on a fast track, voting open for four days
Stating that two points of the Ministry of Culture Bill shall be edited. Original Act
1. Point III: The Minister of Culture shall not have a definite term in office; they may be ousted and replaced by a standard vote of Parliament at any time. The Chancellor shall appoint the first Minister of Culture until a new Minister of Culture is elected.
Shall become: III: The Minister of Culture shall share the same term limit as all other Ministry Offices. The Chancellor shall appoint the first Minister of Culture until a new Minister of Culture is elected.
2. Point V: The Minister of Culture will have jurisdiction over the CFN Map.
Shall become: V. The Ministry of Culture will oversee the CFN map and the Chief Cartographer, who will be the editor of the map. The Chief Cartographer will not be a member of the Cabinet and will not take part in Cabinet affairs. The Chief Cartographer will be elected by the residents of the CFN and will be on the same term limit as the cabinet. The voting period for the first Chief Cartographer shall be a 3 day window. Any residents can be the elected Chief Cartographer, including elected members of the cabinet, except for the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Minister of Culture. This is because the MoIA and the MoC will provide a "checks and balances" system for the map claiming process for the region. When a nation applies for a claim on the regional map, they will telegram the Minister of Culture. The MoC will communicate with the MoIA to verify that the nation has valid citizenship, if it is not already on the CFN roster. Once the approval has been given the MoC will telegram the Chief Cartographer to add the nation to the map. For expanding or moving, a nation must only get approval from the Chief Cartographer, so that it does not complicate the process. The Map will reside in the Ministry of Culture, because of the fact that the Chief Cartographer is a part of that ministry.
