Hamond stabs at her microphone and wipes sweat from her red-hot face. 'Idiot,
"You can say all you want on how a 'total' war is the only option. You can scream to the high Heavens and preach in the Chapel that our enemy must be eliminated. And you know what... you're right; we must eliminate the enemy. But via weaponry... that is a crime. We won't torture? Sure. We won't be cruel. That's all fine and dandy. But you call for--and I quote: 'A total war on the enemy. In which the tyrant's social, political, economic and military strengths are depleted. Air strikes will not due. Troops on the ground. Covert operations in dismantling their hierarchy, the suffocation of their routes of supplies, the rescuing of POW's, cornering them in places without escape, completely eradicating them.' Your Honorable Dr. Drake, does that sound much different than what these people are trying to do with Genuan? Monkey See, Money Do, as the old saying goes. They strike us, we strike them. 'An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind,' wise men have said for ages upon ages. Shall we not heed their warnings? This... this declaration for vengeance, is fear. 'Though I walk through the valley of Death, I shall fear no evil.' We cannot--repeat, cannot--show the enemy that we fear them by seeking their eradication. They want us to fight them, they want us to attack them with all that we have. They are mocking us, ladies and gentlemen. A regime this desperate and pathetic enough to resort the most evil of actions will face punishment and judgement from God. I do not believe in Hell, but these people shall surely see the face of Satan on Earth as they destroy themselves in the process of attempting to undo our society. We only need send humanitarian aid for long enough for the collapse to begin. If there is a resistance movement in the enemy's territory, aid them instead with some weapons. They are better suited to defeat and restore the enemy's old and peaceful ways than we are."
Miranda sits back down, jotting notes onto the last bit of free space on her whiteboard: And the Lord said Peace Be Still, and it was so.

-Il-Feng steps towards the mic, emerging from his half-asleep, half-attentive stature-
He begins to grasp the microphone, bracing as if he were in his 4th grade talent show all over again.
"My friends, my colleagues... ladies and gentlemen, a parasite cannot live without its host. We are the host. So, where does this put us? For the parasite to be removed, we must either die, or we must pluck it. I stand behind the courageous words of both Dr. Drake and Miss Hamonds, and I feel their plight. For us to survive as Free Nations, we must secure freedom. Such security requires a force of freedom, a force of freedom that does not violate its cause, a force of freedom that does not drain its own palms, and a force of freedom that does not destroy its own siblings! We must act, but not with hate, but not with hope. We must secure our own hope here, we must secure that hate does not grow amongst us there. Ladies and gentlemen, I plead unto you, let us remove this parasite so that the blood of freedom may once again flow freely. There are several of us in this room today, hailing from nations of great military strength, as are the ones of us from great kindness. Freedom is the mixture of these two, the acceptance of both. Let my own nation, my own Republic, alongside the other top defenders of this alliance march for freedom. Let us move into the dens of these wolves and cleanse them. Let us protect the innocent of Genuan Rebirth; let us aid them to join our cause for their own defense. All the while, allow our nations of great kindness to provide aid and care for those without. Let their armies of white, shining nurses trail our armies of white, courageous soldiers! Let us work in unity. Let us shower the world in peace, let us defend, let us assist. I plead unto you, let us act, let us pluck the beast, let us heal the wound it has left."
-Yuri takes a moment to recover, anxiously awaiting the next response.

*Ambassador Dupont turns on his mic, and after shuffling a few papers he begins
"As many of you have stated that a total invasion should be implemented, we must think pragmatically here and understand the severe consequences. If we send our armies to invade, thousands of innocent men an women would die, and would only elongate this war. If we are to act swiftly and efficiently, the most practical method will be to conduct air strikes in the heavily fortified areas completely taken by the enemy. We will not have to sacrifice our soldiers and send them to die in gruesome warfare. I have contacted Prime Minister Garonette and her Cabinet, and they have supported the use of Fighter Jets in certain regions of Genuan Rebirth. Markotovia remains fixed on our position and I thank you for listening."
*The Ambassador turned of his mic and confidently sat down, surveilling the room of Ambassadors

-He stands up-
Well as most of this chamber is not in favor of total war Let us then compromise. Troops on the ground, not on the offensive to attack but there to defend and aid the already depleted Genuan Troops. Humanitarian aid in physicians, nurses, field hospitals, food and water. Secure shelters for fleeing peoples. Air strikes on the enemy forward operation bases, military outposts, supply lines and officer headquarters...along with at least one special forces group tasked with taking out the highest generals and person of power. Can this.... Ladies and Gentleman be a compromise we are all willing to accept then?
-He looks around, waiting-

Miranda calculated the compromise in her mind, eventually deciding her response.
"While I am still rather uncertain on the Markotovish proposal of airstrikes... I feel as if this compromise is agreeable. Thank you, Dr. Drake. It is better than some of the other options. But, I'd rather have the enemy's officers and powerholders arrested and held on trial in our courts."
Miranda nodded and sat back in her chair.

Prince Peter pressed a button and leaned in to speak into the microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen of the Parliament, I have been listening to this debate with great interest, and I must say, I find myself in agreement with the venerable Dr. Drake. The honorable Miss Hammonds brings up good points, but at the end of the day, a level of force will be required if we are to properly defend against these attackers. Genuan Rebirth has been our ally for as long as I can remember, and we must do everything in our power to assist them. For if we cannot defend friends, then our Commonwealth is not worthy of existence." Prince Peter paused and took a breath. "That said, I understand the value of compromise in politics. I will gladly support Dr. Drake's compromise proposal, and I dearly hope it will be enough for the time being."
Prince Peter paused for a second time. "One last note. I would just like to say that when it comes time to send troops, Jaslandia will eagerly assume a leading role if necessary. While Jaslandia is not militaristic nation, we have a skilled military and a strong military tradition that is a result of our nation's long and proud history. Jaslandia would be honored to assist Genuan Rebirth." Prince Peter removed his finger from the button and took a sip of water.

The Lord-Chancellor once again approaches the podium. As the position of Speaker is, as currently, unfilled I will handle voting for this session. [OOC: Right now I'll give 1 day for the 'aye' to respond and then 1 day for the 'no' to respond. This system can be changed by the speaker once the position is elected. Or a bill could be passed forcing a permanent system. I dunno, whatever.]
After hearing from the preliminary debates I pose the statement to the chamber, the statement is as follows
"The CFN as a collective organisation shall respond to the Genuan conflict with more than just a condemnation of the aggressors."
As many of this opinion say 'Aye'

"AYE," Said Miranda. She dreaded what some of her colleagues and fellow Vistonians would say of this. "But be advised that Vista major can't and won't be sending troops or weapons to be on the defense, as we have no formal military force of our own."

Matthews continued confidently, breaking his long silence upon hearing all views on the issue: "Fibertas is preparing its large tactical Air Force for mobilization. We support severe sanctions and an aerial bombing campaign. We are ready to provide support for war."

Winnie Harpo pushed the button to her mic, "AYE."
"Wicko understands and strongly appreciates the points made by Amb. Hamond in favor of a peaceful solution to this crisis, but it is evident that the time for diplomacy has long passed, and the time for us to fight for our principles is upon us."
"Whilst the Union of Wicko is by its nature uninclined to interfere in the affairs of states that do not directly affect or threaten Wicko, our government is so moved by the suffering of the peoples of Genuan Rebirth that we must stand up with them and fight by their sides."
"Wicko strongly supports this resolution."
