The Judicial Assignment Act (To amend ARTICLE 8 (Judicial Functions:)
NOTING that the Judicial Branch is a very important branch of government within the Commonwealth.
ALSO NOTING that the justices are the highest power of the highest court of the land, The Supreme Court.
NOTICING that a previous fail attempt to pass this bill may have been from a lack of structure and proceedings as to how justices are to be managed.
BELIEVING that this bill will be a better attempt to better check the Judiciary's power.
Article I: The Supreme Court is authorized to carry out judicial functions that have otherwise been appealed or remain disconcluded from lower courts, including judicial review and court cases of any degree.
Article II: The Supreme Court may have a maximum of 5 Justices, each to be appointed by the Chancellor and approved of by the Parliament.
Article III: In the event that a justice is not approved of by Parliament, the Chief Justice can bypass the measure and appoint the justice with Chancellory approval.
Article IV: Justices must have not have been part of a political party or political-related organization 1 month prior to receiving approval to the serve in the Supreme Court.
Article V: Once a Justice has been appointed, they shall serve under the Chief Justice for 4 months, then will have the option of renewing their Justiceship, should the Chief Justice appprove of the motion. The Chancellor reserves the right to block the reappointment of a justice.
Article VI: The Chief Justice shall be elected into their office by the Parliament, excluding Cabinet members.
Article VII: The Chancellor and Chief Justice reserve the right to expel any Justice with probable cause.
Article VIII: The Chief Justice reserves the right to practice law unrestricted, within the boundaries as set forth by law. It is at the discretion of he/she as to whether this right can he passed onto the serving justices.
Article IX: The Supreme Court can amend this act by a unanimous vote.
