Parliamentary Series #7
AUTHOR: Vista Major DATE: March 7th, 2015 AD
ENDORSEMENTS: AOS Vista Major DENOUNCEMENTS: Vladovaskia Acro Markotovia Everstopia Jaslandia Unfallious COLDR Sulania
STATING that those who serve in Cabinet are often highly-respected individuals within the Commonwealth elected to carry out the government. NOTICING that there is no set law or constitutional clause to state how many times an individual can serve in Cabinet. BELIEVING that a lack of "term limits" can lead to a lukewarm Cabinet due to the same individuals serving in the same position of power indefinitely, preventing adequate competition.
-Anyone can run for Cabinet during any election period, provided that they are a Registered Citizen. -If someone is elected into Cabinet, they can only be reelected into the same office once. Afterwards, they have to run for another office or abstain from running. -If someone is elected as Chancellor, they cannot serve consecutive terms. -Anyone who runs for any Cabinet position can only be elected and serve 5 times total. ~EXCEPTION: One can only serve as Chancellor twice total. -This law will NOT affect those currently serving in the Ninth Cabinet.
-Overrides any conflicting legislation. -Allowing for amendments to this bill by parliamentary simple-majority vote.

Denounced.
Activity is already an issue for this region. I don't want to have to deal with the process of repealing this bill when we inevitably run out of electoral candidates.

I will ABSTAIN, due to the fact that I think Clause 3 should be amended.
i) -If someone is elected as Chancellor, they can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.

Denounced, it punishes people who are active, then they can't serve anymore. I think its ridiculous

Denounced, it punishes people who are active, then they can't serve anymore. I think its ridiculous This is ludicrous, there is already a limited number of active members in the CFN. By limiting the active members, we will eventually come to a problem of having people with no possible terms left. DENOUNCED

I hereby denounce this bill. I feel that the power of the electorate is a sufficient term limit mechanism, and that this legislation would only punish those who actually like and approve of their ministers.
