Today I voted nay on the constitutionality of the Regional Officers Implementation Act.
My opinion shall be short as most of my thoughts are outlined by my colleague, the Right Honorable Lord Justice Aden, this will act as more of a concurring opinion because we hold widely the same view.
However, had this been brought as a constitutional amendment, I would have supported it completely. There are too many violations of our existing law to allow this legislation. The powers to control embassies, ban nations, and alter the regional appearance are absurd unconstitutional advances in regional law that disperse executive authority too widely.
As a strict constructionist, I am proud to vote nay.

*Justice Whitman arrived back in his chamber following a busy day in the Justice Hall. Shedding his judicial robes, he slumped in his chair and opened the campaign report that just arrived from the office. As he cracked it open his phone rang. The screen read SECURITY.*
"Yes?"
"Sir, Dr. Ruclax's motorcade is arriving and we've been asked to send him up. Shall we?"
"Of course! Send him right up."
*Miles produced the former Chief Justice's favorite Humpherian bourbon from their old dinner meeting days and waited for him to arrive*

The Mounties that were posted at each floor we went up smiled at him and nodded; he knew every one of them. He finally came to the floors of the judiciary and walked slowly down the halls, reminiscing to the times when he walked these halls every day in a hurry- not realizing how beautiful it was. He walked to Mile's chambers: the Mounties there saluted him and let him in.
He walked in and felt right at home. He saw is friend there opening a bourbon, his favorite drink, and smiled. His let is coat off and draped it on the couch beside him, walking toward Miles.
"Hi Miles!" He said as he shook his hand, and looked around. "What a throw back this is, isn't it....good to see you buddy. Let's eat, i'm hungry"

"Of course! Charles, we'd like to order!"
*The Lord Justice's servant entered the chamber prepared to take the requests.*
"I'd like to have some sautéed lobster with some lemon chicken and a Caesar salad."
*He looked to the candidate*
"So, Alexander, I see you're recovering quite well from yesterday's traumatic experience."

Alexander, looked at the servant "I'll have pasta fagolie soup, with a side of salad, and a pastry filled with french cream."
He looked at Miles " Yea, I did, I did. It's okay, although at some point, I'll probably have to talk to someone: my brain didn't process it fully yet" He said with a giggle. "So, what's the latest with the campaign on your end? I've only had time to look at a few stats and things; I've been really tied up at the university and with planing things for the Chancellery"

"Well, we have been deploying ground teams all over the Commonwealth. We mobilized hundreds of volunteers and I think its paying off. Exit polls are coming in constantly and I think we are going to pull it off."
*He took a sip of bourbon*
"So, what are you planning for the Ruclax Chancellery?"

He smiled. "That's good! Yes, the volunteers are really vivacious; I'm glad we have them!"
He had a bit of his soup "Well..."he said as he took his napkin
"Allot. And, it's the Montclair Chancellery!, especially after the weeding! I'm planning to bring a fresh new look to the government's executive branch with new positions, appointments and functions. It will be...awesome...to say the least"

*At the mention of Ms. Hill, Miles raised his eyebrows.*
"Yes, I am curious about how that will work. How will the first married Chancellor incorporate a First Lady into government? Will she receive an office and be active in government affairs?"

He smiles and takes a sip of borubon, leaning back into his chair. "Well, she won't hold public office, unless she is elected into one. In any event, she will, basically, be with me when I go to State Visits, Dinners and such. She will be doing some internal affairs work with with the Minister of IA and helping out with recruitment..things that the First Lady should be involved in"
